Kuching Isthmus is a planned satellite city on a so called ‘island’ known as the Isthmus, with three bridges linking it to several parts of Kuching.
The development project plans consist of the Kuching Tower, the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Kuching Isthmus Hypermarket Mall, Office buildings, luxury hotel and residential areas.
In recent years, plans for this massive project has changed with the inclusion of the Sarawak Energy headquarters and the UCSI Hotel.
Developed by Cahaya Mata Sdn Bhd (CMS), the project sits on a 774-acre land mass and is only some two kilometers from the Kuching City Centre.
Road networks to this massive Central Business District (CBD) has been developed nicely over the years with the completion of several planned projects, most notably the Kuching Isthmus Gateway, the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching and the Sarawak Energy HQ.
The Isthmus, as some call it, doesn’t have a definite completion date, but construction as well as sales in the area have been on-going quite rapidly recently.
