Sarawak General Hospital to have Interfaith Prayer area

The Sarawak General Hospital will soon have a dedicated interfaith prayer area, which will be a place for visiting friends and families of various religions to retreat and pray in their times of need.

Based on an article by DayakDaily, the special area will be set up by Sarawak’s Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) with a cost of RM600,000.

The Sarawak General Hospital  Interfaith Prayer area project is expected to start work in January 2023 and is expected to be competed in June 2023.

The proposal came about as a result of the many requests from patients, visiting friends and families of various religions to have an area they can retreat to and pray in their times of need.

Prior to this, the Sarawak government, through UNIFOR had also approved an allocation of RM350,00 to build a Chapel at the government owned Sarawak Heart Centre in Samarahan.
