Uber to operate in Kuching City tomorrow
Ride sharing app Uber has made their presence official in Kuching City as they take up adverts promoting their entry into the Cat City.
Despite deemed illegal by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Nancy Shukri, it looks like there’s nothing stopping the US based company from launching their services here with locals welcoming the app presence in volumes.
Uber Everywhere (Malaysia) general manager Kenny Choong told newspaper The Borneo Post that the ride sharing app would still start operating in Kuching tomorrow despite the comment by Nancy.
Uber as we understand, is looking to capture the tourist and student market in Kuching, given the fact that the use of public transportation in the city is relatively low compared to major towns in West Malaysia.
We further understand that Uber has already selected a handful of Uber drivers in the city as well.
