Kuching District is an administrative district within Kuching Division in Sarawak, Malaysia-Borneo.
Area & administration of Kuching District
According to WikiPedia, it is subdivided into two subdistricts which is Kuching Proper and Padawan.
Kuching Proper is managed by two local councils, the Council of the City of
Kuching South (MBKS) and Commission of the City of Kuching North (DBKU), while the Padawan area of Kuching District is under the Padawan Municipal Council.
Both DBKU and MBKS takes care of largely urban areas in the district, while MPP has not only greater size, but also covers most sub-urban and rural areas of the district.

It is important to note that Siburan had been elevated into a full district under Serian in 2021, hence somewhat splitting the sub-district of Padawan (under Kuching District) into two sections.
This significantly reduces areas owned by Padawan district, but somewhat still makes it the biggest of the three areas in terms of administration.
