Sarawak plans dedicated building for Darul Hana Al-Quran Centre on 3.8-Acre land

Sarawak is planning the construction of the Darul Hana Al-Quran Development Centre (DHQc-MIS).
Set to become the region’s premier hub for Islamic education, this major project highlights the Sarawak’s ongoing commitment to balancing modern infrastructure with strong spiritual and human capital growth.
According to the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) President, Datuk Misnu Taha, the state government under Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has officially allocated a sprawling 3.8-acre plot of land for the centre’s construction.
At the time this article is written, the cost for the new centre has not be made known Petra Jaya has been announced as its confirmed site.
Datuk Misnu also emphasized that the facility will serve as the main regional hub for Quranic and Hadith studies.
He also noted that the development of institutions based on Islamic knowledge must be continuously strengthened to ensure the community remains firmly guided by the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah.
Such initiative aligns with the Sarawak government’s aspiration to strengthen holistic community development which encompasses not only academic education but also deep spirituality and robust character building for the younger generation.
Currently, the Darul Hana Al-Quran Development Centre is already functional is based temporarily at the Sarawak Islamic Council’s building.
