Tallest flagpole in South East Asia fly Sarawak flag

The tallest flagpole in South East Asia today flew the Sarawak flag proudly with images of the flag on the peak of the flagpole making rounds on social media.

The 99m flagpole which cost 30 million was already up this week after a long crane placed it into place.

It is located across the Kuching Waterfront, just beside the Sarawak State Legislative Building (DUN) and the up-coming Sarawak teahouse.

On June 15, DayakDaily reported that the flagpole was 66.97 percent completed, with it being 3 percent ahead of schedule.

It is planned for completion in November 2023.

The same report said that the flag that will be flown on the flagpole is 25 by 12.5 meters square Sarawak flag, believed to be what is captured on the photos today.

Borneo Post in its brief statement on its social media account also said the project is funded by a unnamed private company as a corporate social responsibility.
