3 more international hotels to open in Kuching

New hotels will increase number of rooms in Kuching

Kuching will soon be home to three more international hotels.

The news was made known by Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah who was quoted by Borneo Post to have said so.

According to Karim, the Sarawak State Planning Unit had already given the green light for the three hotels to come in.

Karim noted that one of the hotels coming in is by Ascott, with the other two hotels not named by the minister.

It is believed that one of the hotel Karim was reffering to was the up-coming Langit-Citadines Hotel and Condominiums which is expected to be built this year.

International Hotels in Kuching

Kuching currently boast several chain hotels in the city centre with the latest being Sheraton Kuching.

Aside from Sheraton, Kuching is also home to Pullman, Ascott’s Citadines Uplands and Hilton, with Raia Hotel and Boulevard Hotel being one of the few local Malaysian chain hotels within the city.

In the past, Kuching used to also have Holiday Inn and Fourt Points by Sheraton as well.

That said, the influx of new international hotels is much welcomed since Kuching is also known to have limited hotel space particularly when there are major events happening.
