Star City Mall: Coming to Sibu in 2028

Sibu might be opening a new mall three years from now as plans for Star City Mall surface online.
The mal is expected to change shopping experience in Sibu which many have felt had not been keeping up with other Sarawakian towns and cities like Kuching, Bintulu and Miri.
What’s available in Star City Mall
Based on information shared on its official website, the mall is expected to have a total gross floor area of 43,641sqm of space, with the mall itself being taking up three storeys.
Details further reveal that the Sibu mall have three storeys of shops, with the second floor reserved for F&B shops as well as a cinema.
The third floor will be for the Sky Garden, which will be reserved for condominiums and SOHO owners.

According to the floor plan shared on the official site, the Sky Garden will have facilities such as a swimming pool, a gym, a kids playground, a sauna, a laundrette, conference room and a games room.
There also seems to be tennis courts and lounging areas in the Sky Garden.
All the blocks which have the SOHO units as well as the apartments will be 11 storeys, making the building stand at 14 storeys.

In terms of location, the mall is planned just behind Star Mega Mall and Starlink Hotel. The exact location can be seen below.

Ready by 2028
The official website that the mall is expected to have its soft launchin the first quarter of 2028, about three years from now.
Interestingly however, a video related to the mall was posted in 2020, which meant that the project is not exactly new.
