A total of seven bands have been shortlisted to compete in the KWJF Jazz Band Search 2019.
The band search would be held on Saturday 27th July 6.00pm at the Kuching Waterfront GoDown.
They are Aishah and Ben Hardie Band, Lucid Maestro, Atma Niskala, Jazzanova, The Fingerprints, Sang Timur and SL2J.
This year’s KWJF Jazz Band Search 2019 talent competition looks out for creativity, originality and composition in selecting a winning band.
The winning band will be given the opportunity to perform at the upcoming Kuching Waterfront Jazz Festival. The jazz festival will be held on 27th-28th September at the Waterfront Walkway, Grand Margherita Hotel.
Our of the seven vands, four finalists will be selected to compete in the Final Round on 27th August this year. The finals would be held at the Sky Lounge, Riverside Majestic Hotel Astana Wing.
As one of SEDC’s objectives to develop and nurture local Sarawak musicians, this year’s KWJF will see our own local Sarawak bands perform alongside with a line up of musicians and performers from around the world namely Singapore, Philippines, Australia, USA, Indonesia and Malaysia.
There will be lucky draw prizes for the audience at today’s competition.
Festival tickets are also available on sale during the competition at the Godown Amphitheatre.
