SDMC announce changes for entry to Sarawak

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement yesterday announced that travellers entering Sarawak will no longer need to fill in the traveller’s card feature in the MySejahtera app.

The move, effective 1 August 2022, is in correlation with the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) statement which was dated July 30 to abolish such requirements when entering the country.

Prior to this, those entering Sarawak were required to download, activate, and register the MySejahtera app on their mobile phones and complete the traveller’s card.

In the card, travellers had to declare information such as their passport number, citizenship, purpose of travel, place of departure, departure date, and arrival time.

Travellers were also also asked to verify the their vaccination status on a pre-departure form.

The removal of such requirements means that it is now a lot easier to enter Sarawak.
