Everrise Takes Over Sabah’s Pick N Pay Supermarket Chain

Sarawak-based Everrise Supermarket has taken over Sabah’s home-grown Pick N Pay convenience grocer from October 1, marking another significant development in East Malaysia’s supermarket and grocery retail industry.

The takeover adds Pick N Pay to a growing portfolio of retail businesses that have changed ownership in Sabah and Sarawak, reflecting the increasingly competitive landscape of the region’s grocery sector.

According to a report by Daily Express, Pick N Pay is operated by Eastern Grocer Sdn Bhd, while Everrise is among East Malaysia’s established premium grocery retailers.

The development comes as Sarawak-based retail operators continue expanding their presence in Sabah, while businesses across the region face increasing competition from established supermarket groups and online shopping platforms.
