Business hours in Kuching shortened until 14 August

Business hours in Kuching will be revised from 1 August – 14 August 2020.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said that all businesses within Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division will not begin from 6AM to 10PM daily.

This means that there would be no more 24-hour eateries allowed to operate in Kuching, as the government starts restricting movement due to the alarming number of Covid-19 infections in the past few days.

Previously, business hours in Kuching had been relaxed after it was limited from 7AM – 7PM during the Movement Control Order (MCO) which began in March 2020.

Kuching, currently labeled as a yellow zone for Covid-19 infections is just a whisker away from being declared a red zone.

Currently, Kuching alone has eight out of the nine clusters detected for Covid-19 with the Sentosa cluster being one of the biggest to date.
