Borneo Music Festival Live: All you need to know

The Borneo Music Festival Live or BMFL claims to be the first-of its-kind outdoor music festival in Kuching, concentrating more specifically on EDM music, although it also has other kind of music such as fusion and traditional music.

It is supported by Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts and is the second largest music festival after the award winning Rainforest World Music Festival.

What to expect

During the festival, one can expect to enjoy a a two day concert and also participate in workshops, and booths.

Alcohol is also served at this festival, and it is an 18 years above event.

Borneo Music Festival Live location : How to get to the BMFL

The Borneo Music Festival Live is organized at the Sarawak Cultural Village, which is about an hour from Kuching City.

However, if you want to save of transportation and want to walk to the event, there are hotels within 5KM of the venue as listed below.

For those driving, you will need the map to the Sarawak Cultural Village (the venue) seen below.

However, you can’t drive until the venue and need to park at a designated parking area which is limited in space.

To ensure better flow of traffic, the organizers have prepared shuttle bus to the event from a nearby hotel as you can see below. Tickets are required when using the shuttle bus.

Borneo Music Festival Live tickets

There’s a two tier ticket pricing for the event which starts at RM450 for two days in 2022.

Though years past, the BMFL is fast becoming one of Kuching’s (and Malaysia’s) biggest music festival with those intending to come advised to book their hotels in Kuching a few months in advance.
