Bolder livery for Sarawak ART vehicle
New ART livery features the colours of the Sarawak flag
The white-blue-ish livery which donned the Sarawak ART (Autonomous Rapid Transit) vehicle will be replaced with a bolder, Sarawak flag inspired livery.
Premier Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, announced the final livery design for the ART during the Sarawak Day 2024 Celebration.
According to Abang Johari, the final livery design of the ART vehicles. embodies the aspirations and strength of Sarawak.
Sarawak Metro in a Facecbook post on the other hand said that the new livery showcases their dynamism and boldness as they transform the public transport system in Sarawak.
It was reported by DayakDaily that several designs were proposed by the Ministry of Transport Sarawak and Sarawak Metro.
However, the final design was chosen as it best represents the spirit and ambition of Sarawak.
Personally, the final livery looks better than the livery which is used on the prototaype hydrogen ART vehicle (seen below), which to me looks rather too ‘government’.

The hydrogen powered ART vehicles are made in China and it is understood that a few units of the vehicle would arrive in Kuching by the end of the year.
