Tourism plans for Bukit Sadok, Betong

The government has big plans to turn Bukit Sadok into an agropolitan area involving Lubok Antu, Engkilili, Layar up to Bukit Saban, Kerian, Kalaka, Pakan, Meluan and Julau.

Among them are plans to construct Bukit Sadok Hall. The erection of the hall will be done carefully so that the natural beauty of the area is not damaged.

Bukit Sadok’s biodiversity is rich with Rafflesia plants, a bonus to recreational, camping and homestay activities in the area.

To ensure the area stays pristine, some 170 acres will be made a forest reserve to protect the flora and fauna.

Attractive tour packages would also be made to take visitors from Betong to the foot of Bukit Sangau by vehicle, before they proceed on foot to Perdu longhouse homestay which is located some two hours away. From the longhouse, visitors can opt for rafting to upper Spak River.

Several long houses would also have their roads interconnected to ensure tourism would flourish easily in the future.
