Kuching has a lot of delicious food, and one of its very own signature dish is the ever popular Fried Crispy Tomato Mee.
It is basically made by deep frying dry Mee Kolok, which is then mixed in a reddish soup consisting of tomato sauce, seafood, a few slices of pork and chicken with a good mix of fish balls.
While it’s difficult to find the best place to enjoy Mee Tomato Cripsy (This is the Malay name), a shop known as Yee Ho Yan in Matang Jaya is currently serving the best Fried Crispy Tomato Mee I’ve ever tasted by far.

But if you are looking for a Fried Crispy Tomato Mee that looks nice, and has prawns like the main photo of this post, then there’s another stall in Matang Jaya behind Everise Matang that serves just that.
Please note that both stalls are non-halal, and Yee Ho Yan closes by 1PM daily, while the other shop shuts for operation at 8PM.
