The Sarawak government has announced that it is restricting all business hours during the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Kuching as well as the rest of Sarawak.

The announcement was made by the State Disaster Management Committee.

According to a statement by the council all councils, all businesses which include sundry shops, private clinics, grocery shops, banks, supermarkets, wet markets, kopitiams and petrol stations, are only allowed to operate from 7AM – 7PM until further notice.

Sundry shops, private clinics, grocery shops, and supermarkets are also advised to practice social distancing.

Checks on Kuching local council sites show that they have also issued public statements to enforce the 7AM – 7PM business hours in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

The MCO was announced by the Malaysian government to flatten the COVID-19 infection line in Malaysia which has since seen a massive increase recently.
