The Rainforest World Music Festival 2020 (RWMF 2020) will not go ahead on the dates planned for now.
According to a news report by DayakDaily, the event is now put on hold due to the worsening situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Sarawak.
The event which was launched just recently with promise of strict health guidelines, was finally postponed as Sarawak recorded its first three cases of the pandemic today.
According to DayakDaily, Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Daruk Karim Hamzah admitted that its hard to postponed the iconic RWMF, but public health is a top priority.
Aside from the RWMF, other major events happening in the next two months have also been postponed indifenitely in accordance to a directive made by the Sarawak government.
Notable events also postponed are the Borneo Jazz Festival, the Sarawak Spartan Race 2020 and Borneo Cultural Fest.
