RM2.6 million Satok Innovation Hub to be built in Kuching
Kuching will soon have a new Innovation Hub when construction of the Satok Innovation Hub completes.
UKAS reports that the new hub will be located behind the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok service centre, making it located in one of Kuching’s prime location and nearby major facilities like banks, tellecommunication company offices and government agencies.
UKAS also reported that the new Innovation Hub would start construction next year, and should be completed within 12 to 15 months.
Facilities at the Innovation Hub include hundreds of pigeon box, meeting rooms, seminar rooms, and small offices.
UKAS quoted Satok Assemblymen Dato Ibrahim Baki as saying that the hub is key in helping business minded youths open a business given that most businesses nowadays can be done online and do not need such elaborate and expensive office space.
Ibrahim said that an innovation hub would therefore help the youths as it offers them the space and facilities for thier business, while also acting as their official address and hence reducing the need for them to start a business with huge capital.
UKAS also reported that the proposed Satok Innovation hub would cost RM2.6 million to build.
