Pullman Kuching reopens Nu Er Hong Chinese fine dining restaurant

Pullman Kuching has officially launched Nu Er Hong [女兒紅], a newly transformed halal-certified Chinese fine dining restaurant that aims to elevate Kuching’s premium dining landscape.

Officially opened on 21 June 2026, the restaurant offers a distinctive culinary experience inspired by the coastal Chinese cuisines of Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong while adhering to halal standards.

Positioned as a “House of Harmony” and a “Table for Milestones,” Nu Er Hong is designed to cater to corporate banquets, weddings, family gatherings, and other significant celebrations.

The concept is inspired by the traditional Chinese custom of preserving wine at a daughter’s birth and opening it on her wedding day, symbolising patience, trust, and the celebration of life’s important moments.

The restaurant features private dining rooms designed for various occasions and is expected to strengthen Pullman Kuching’s appeal within Sarawak’s growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) sector.

According to Pullman Kuching General Manager Sunardi Song, Nu Er Hong represents a blend of global sophistication, local heritage, halal integrity, and coastal Chinese culinary artistry.

Its interior design draws inspiration from the historic Maritime Silk Road, incorporating elements of Fujian craftsmanship, Longjing tea-inspired colours, and nautical themes that reflect centuries of cultural exchange and trade.

Led by Chef Charles, the restaurant’s menu showcases traditional techniques and signature dishes such as Nu Er Hong Roasted Duck, Fujian Braised Two-Headed Supreme Abalone with King Oyster Sauce, and Baked Char Siu Cod Fish.

The launch event which happened over the weekend featured cultural performances, a lion dance, a kung fu tea ceremony, and a symbolic alcohol-free First Pour Ritual commemorating the restaurant’s 16-year journey.
