Pesta Regatta Batang Kayan: All you need to know

The Pesta Regatta Batang Kayan (Batang Kayan Regatta Festival) is an annual three day event organized in Lundu which combines the Batang Kayan Festival and Batang Kayan Regatta.

Attendance for the event has been good with thousands watching the regatta and participating in the festival itself.

Batang Kayan Regatta

The Batang Kayan Regatta has been around for quite sometime but the exact date of its inception is not know.

Since the event is held before the Sarawak Regatta, the regatta part of the event is considered as a ‘warm-up’ towards the more prolific Sarawak Regatta.

Not less than 14 teams usually take part in the regatta, with the title ‘Kind of the River’ up for grabs.

There’s also local competitions organized which include futsal competitions, academic related competitions, blowpipe competitions, karaoke competitions and more.

The highlight of the festival is usually the beauty queen competition and nightly concerts which usually features local artist.
