Construction of Kota Sentosa Hawker Centre with retractable roof begins

The construction of the Kota Sentosa Hawker Centre has officially started today with Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Patinggi Haji Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg officiating its ground breaking.

In Malay, it will be named Pusat Penjaja Kota Sentosa.

Among the main feature of this new hawker centre is its retractable roof.

During the launch, it was noted that the new hawker centre will be meant for dining with an area of 1,614 square metres used to build the building.

The cost of the hawker centre will be RM2.4 million and it is expected to be complete in July 2022.

Based on artist impressions and plans, the hawker centre will house 25 stalls and come with disable friendly amenities.

It will be a one storey building with one main entrances, but four side entrances.

Positive hopes for Kota Sentosa Hawker Centre

There has been calls for a new hawker centre in Kota Sentosa in recent years so the building of this hawker centre is much welcomed.

Most food centres tend to do well so it is hoped that this will be the same once its completed.

I’ll update the progress of this hawker centre in the Kota Sentosa Hawker Center page as it will likely become a major eating place in the future.
