Malaysian legendary singer Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza came to Kuching today to celebrate CUCKOO International’s 9th Anniversary.
The reknowned home appliance brand from South Korea currently offers four Healthy Home pillars which focus on making home healthier.
Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza is the CUCKOO’s Brand Ambassador, and she was expected to attend two events, one being at the CUCKOO Brand Gallery Kuching, and later the anniversary celebrations at VivaCity Megamall Kuching.
I had the priviledge to cover both eventsm and here’s what I can share on the whole celebrations.
Why Kuching
Before I go on,I can’t help wonder why CUCKOO would choose Kuching to celebrate their 9th Anniversary as it had been traditionally been done in the Klang Valley.
My question was later answered when the Founder and CEO of CUCKOO International, KC Hoe, told us that Kuching was chosen because the city is the Healthy Home Creator’s largest customer base in East Malaysia.

Anyway, the whole event started with a trip to CUCKOO’s Brand Gallery at Jalan Stutong Baru.
Here, the Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza was ushered around the gallery to see and experience CUCKOO’s products and offerings herself.
Among the products I could identify were the C Model Air Purifier, D Model Air Purifier, and Cuckoo Bespoke Massage Chair.
I was made to understand, customers or potential customers of CUCKOO can visit this gallery to tryout and see CUCKOO’s products first hand here. It is open daily from 9am to 6pm.
Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, then signed a poster at the gallery before proceeding to VivaCity Megamall, which was about 15 minutes away.
Prior to that, we were also introduced to the CUCKOO Cafe by HWS Coffee in Kuching, which is located within the gallery.
This cafe served freshly brewed coffee and we were given the chance to grab a cup.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do so as I had to rush to VivaCity Megamall for CUCKOO International’s 9th Anniversary.
A staff of MIDIN Media was kind enough to drive me to VivaCity Megamall so I wouldn’t be late for the anniversary celebrations. (Bless her!)
CUCKOO’s 9th Anniversary at VivaCity Megamall
We arrived at VivaCity Megamall just in time for the start of the massive 9th CUCKOO International 9th Anniversary celebrations.
Popular host, Nabil Ahmad opened the celebrations with a birthday song for CUCKOO.
He then, invited Mr KC Hoe, the founder and CEO of CUCKOO International (Malaysia) to the stage for his speech.
During his speech, Mr KC said that the celebration in Kuching was important because Kuching is the biggest market in East Malaysia for the brand, and that it also housed the brand’s first Brand Gallery.
He also stated that CUCKOO International had expanded its office base, and built a new 1,000sqft distribution centre for South East Asia in Subang Jaya.
Last but not least, Mr KC also said that they had launched the “Beli CUCKOO Menang Kondo” campaign which is currently running in its second phase.
He also opened a piñata which revealed the 25 names of those who won RM1,000 under the second phase of the “Beli CUCKOO Menang Kondo” campaign.
This was then followed by the introduction of two new CUCKOO products by CUCKOO CEO, Mr Toh Seng Lee, before the Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza took the stage.
On the stage, Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza mesmerized the crowd with the CUCKOO’s theme song ‘Samasama’ and ‘Romansa Kita’.
Together with Nabil, Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza then announced the three Proton Saga winners of the day, together with the winner of the EXSIM D’Terra Residences condominium.
This was then followed by the cutting of the CUCKOO birthday cake.
“Beli CUCKOO Menang Kondo” campaign
The “Beli CUCKOO Menang Kondo” campaign previously offered prizes worth RM2 million, but CUCKOO International decided to extend the campaign by adding another million Ringgit today.
With the extension, those participating in the campaign can win prizes up to RM3 million.
Pizes now include x90 Cash Prizes of RM1,500 (up from RM1,000 previously and offered exclusively for existing customers only), x3 Proton Saga, x3 TESLA Model 3, and x3 serviced apartment units at EXSIM D’Terra Residences.
The brand had also decided to make the prize draw monthly with the extension.
The extension of the campaign Phase 2 starts from 1st October 2023 until 31st December 2023.

New CUCKOO product launch
Aside from the extension of the “Beli CUCKOO Menang Kondo” campaign, the brand also used their 9th Anniversary to introduce two innovations in their product line-up, namely the CUCKOO GRANDE Water Purifier, and the CUCKOO U Model Air Purifier.
As mentioned above, the introduction of both products were done by CUCKOO CEO, Mr Toh Seng Lee.
According to Mr Toh, the CUCKOO GRANDE Water Purifier is the first tank model with 100°C water designed for Malaysians.
This minimalist looking water purifier is capable of sterilising the faucet with water at 100°C hence removing 99.9% of bacteria.
The CUCKOO U Model Air Purifier on the other hand is an air purifier with 360° absorption, and coverage of up to 1,161ft2 to filter impurities in the air, hence making it perfect for commercial usage as well.
This air purifier is also equipped with the Ultra-Deo HEPA+ Filter which allows it to filter up to 99.995% bacteria and viruses in the air.
Aside from that, the air purifier is also coated with Copper Sulphide that gives the air purifier antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Meet and Greet Siti Nurhaliza
The event ended with a meet and greet session with Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza.
The carnival like atmosphere grew even more lively as fans made a beeline towards Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza who was waiting for fans on stage.
For me, I took this as a personal queue to head back as I had other prior engagements later on.
Nonetheless, the event itself today was something I will remember for a while as I not only learned a bit more about CUCKOO and what they offered, but also got close to my favourite singer, Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza.
