What About Kuching 2019 is the third edition of the festival that celebrates arts, culture and lifestyle. It was launched officially on the 15th of April 2019 at the Rooftop Lounge of Waterfront Hotel.
I personally call this festival ‘a collection of events under one name’ because it has a lot of local events happening in a month under the same banner.
According to the organizers, the festival is a platform by itself for local talents and communities to highlight their skills and passion to a wider audience. This is in line to making Kuching an art and cultural hub in the region.
This year, the festival will be held from September 28 to October 27.
PARTICIPATING IN THE FESTIVAL
There are three ways to be part of the What About Kuching 2019 festival.
The first is to be a collaborator. This means you will be part of the organizing committee in which you will need to propose your event to the organizers for consideration. To be part of the collaborators, you need to submit your proposal before 14 June 2019.
The second way to participate is to be a volunteer. Volunteers work directly under the organizing committee and help up during events. You can apply to be a volunteer as well. I am not sure of the perks, but experience in organizing an event is guaranteed.

WHAT ABOUT KUCHING 2019 ACTIVITIES
For 2019, What About Kuching will be organizing these events and activities:
- Sixth Borneo International Beads Conference 2019
- WAK Music Portal 2019
- Sarawak Adventure Challenge
- AfroLatin Dance Fiesta
- Sarawakiana Carnival
- Stars Aligned Theatre
- Two Much Drama Theatre.
More activities are set to be planned as the dates of the festival becomes closer.

The festival is usually centered at several key locations around Kuching city. They are:

TICKETS TO ACTIVITIES UNDER WAK2019 ?
Most of the events under What About Kuching 2019 are free entry. However, some events do require special passes.
These passes can be bought for a minimal price or obtained free from the respective event organizers.
