Sarawak hopes to bring in at least 3 million tourist in the coming 2023.
The amount will bring in RM7.25 billion in tourist receipts at least if achieved.
The figure was made known by Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah who was quoted by The Malaysian Reserve as saying that the projection was based on the trend of tourists coming to the Sarawak over the past few months.
According to the report by the portal, Sarawak had 1,378,017 tourist arrivals from January to October this year, and Sarawak is confident they will receive about 1.8 million in total by year end.
Karim was quoted as saying that domestic tourism will continue to drive local tourism as well.
Sarawak, particularly Kuching, is a popular tourist attraction and destination among many travellers.
