The Sarawak Museum Complex which has been completed and handed over to the Sarawak Government will be open to the public next year.
Already hard to miss when one goes to Kuching, the museum is the second largest museum in South East Asia.
The new Kuching landmark was supposed to be declared open this September, but it had to be delayed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Museum authorities are currently preparing the new Museum complex for the opening, which includes arranging and fitting in displays at the new gallery.
“The museum will be a major attraction once it is open later.
“We expect it to be fully ready in the first quarter of 2021” said Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah to Suara Sarawak.
The new museum complex cost RM308 million to build.
