If you are looking for Ramadan Bazaars in Kuching, then you have come to the right place.

Pasar Ramadan, or Ramadan Bazaars, or PaRams for short are popular among locals during the month of Ramadan.

They are used by the Muslim community to raise money for their up-coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, but have proved to be highly popular among locals and tourist.

This is due to the variety of food items available at the Ramadan Bazaars.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Although Ramadan Bazaars have mushroomed in a variety of places in Kuching over the years, the bigger ones allow for more selections.

The food available varies, but popular delights in the form of local cakes, local dishes and drinks are normally found in abundance.

Aside from that, visitors can also hope to find grilled chicken and fish.

OPENING HOURS OF RAMADAN BAZAARS

Ramadan Bazaars in Kuching usually start as early as 1PM.  However, during this time, stall owners are still busy setting up their stalls.

Most stalls are usually opened by 3PM, and the crowd starts trickling in by 4PM.

Ramadan Bazaars tend to cease operation after fasting period is over.

Tips: Food sold are usually sold cheaper after breaking fast, but if you want the best variety, come at around 3PM.

WHAT TO WEAR TO A RAMADAN BAZAAR

It is highly adviceable to wear comfortable clothing.  Ramadan Bazaars tend to be hot, crowded and humid.

I would recommend decent clothing.  Shorts, singlets and slippers for men are acceptable, but the ladies should cover up with at least t-shirts of dresses that are knee length.

Avoid skimpy outfits as it is the month of Ramadan.
