Padawan in Kuching is an area managed by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).
MPP was formed at the end of 1956 under the provisions of the Local Authority Ordinance 1948, Chapter 117.
It was previously known as Kuching Rural District Council before it was renamed and upgraded to what it is today.
Together with Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), they form Kuching District.
