The second package of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Project-Phase One, which is popularly mentioned as the Kuching ART project has been awarded.
Known as System Package Two, the tender was awarded to DOM-EEB Joint Venture (DOM-EEV JV), which is a collaboration between DOM Industries (M) Sdn Bhd and China Railway Electric Engineering Group Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
News report by Borneo Post say that the announcement of the deal was made by Sarawak Economic Development Corporation’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd.
Sarawak Metro said DOM-EEB JV’s bid was among the 10 tender submissions that was received before tender closure was done on July 18, 2022.
The contract is valued at RM448 million and it involves the design, engineering, procurement, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning as well as the handing over of various systems, which include telecommunication, supervisory control and data acquisition, automatic fare collection, computerised maintenance management system, operation control centre, and information technology system.
