Lundu district now back as green zone

Lundu district in Kuching has been declared a green zone for Covid-19 yesterday after the district recorded no new local infections of the virus for the past 14 days.

This makes Kuching district the only district in Kuching division, and the only one of two districts still rated as a yellow zone for Covid-19.

The other district in yellow is Serian.

Despite still considered a yellow zone for Covid-19 cases, both Kuching and Serian district are expected to return to green zones if the current downwards trend of Covid-19 infections in both areas continue to record zero on a daily basis.

This is considering the fact that both districts have only one case of local Covid-19 transmission within the past 14 days, and both districts have not recorded a single case of local infection for over 10 days.

Change of Covid-19 zone status is important as green zones have more relaxed laws for businesses and movement as compared to yellow and red zones.
