Kuching business hours now from 7AM – 10PM

Business hours in Kuching will end at 10PM after the Sarawak State Disaster Management Comitee (SDMC) announced that the new business hours for Sarawak would be from 7AM to 10PM daily.

The new hours will be effective today, 12 May 2012, coinciding with the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which begins today in all of Malaysia.

Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas during the daily SDMC press conference said that the new business hours would cover all economic sectors which are allowed to operate during CMCO.

This means that businesses that have been allowed to operate during the CMCO will now enjoy an additional three hours extra from the previously 7PM closing hour under MCO.

“In the Standard Operating hours that we published, we stated different business operating hours for each sectors.  This had caused confusion among those involved.

“Therefore we have decided to standardize the business operating hours across all sectors from 7AM to 10PM daily” said Douglas to UKAS.
