Unique building a new landmark for Kuching

The Anglican’s St Thomas Cathedral’s House of Epiphany was officially declared open by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas today.

The building, which is located within the St Thomas Cathedral’s compund sits majestically on top of the hill, overlooking Padang Merdeka.

Thanks to it’s unique design and facade, the building itself has immediately become a landmark for Kuching as it depicts beautiful Dayak designs on its building.

According to a news report by Borneo Post, the House of Epiphany will be used by the Anglican community as a theological training college for priests-in-training, as well as to train youth leaders and women ministries.

Uggah in his speech noted that the building obtained a grant of RM11.5 million for the House of the Epiphany’s construction and refurbishment from the Unit For Other Religions (Unifor) in the Sarawak Premier’s Department.
