Construction set to begin for House of Epiphany Kuching

The Anglican Church will soon start building its new House of Epiphany Kuching on the current location of the old building.

The new five-storey building will house a chapel, lecture room, seminar rooms, library, administrative and staff offices, ministry offices, a mini museum, staff and students’ accommodations and meeting spaces.

According to plans, the buiding is expected to be completed in September 2022.

Coloured in brown and white, the new building also includes traditional Dayak designs in its facade.

House of Epiphany Kuching will be used to train locals who intend to pursue priestly ministry.

The present old wooden building was opened in 1953 during the episcopate of Bishop Nigel Cornwall will be demolished to make way for the new building.

Funds for the building were obtained from Unifor with the diocese able to raise another RM1.5 million on their own.
