Bidayuh Cultural Centre, Bau
The Bidayuh Cultural Centre (BCC) is a RM9 million project that was announced in 2016, and approved in 2017.
It is not to be confused with the Bidayuh Cultural Village in Singai, Kuching.
The Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) has been tasked to take care of the BCC, which includes managing and running the centre as a mini convention centre.
Site clearing started in after June 2023, and the project is expected to be completed in 2025.
What to expect
Once completed, the centre is expected to have several facilities for the public including a 1,000 seater function hall, a cafe and meeting rooms.
Once completed, the centre will be usable by anyone.
Based on artist impressions seen below, the centre will also feature a ‘baruk’ inspired shape in the front of the building.
Bidayuh Cultural Centre location
The BCC is located at old Jalan Jambusan, not far from the St Stephen’s Catholic Church. The location of the site can be seen in the map below.
Bidayuh Cultural Centre operating hours
The BCC is not yet completed and hence has no operating hours.
