AirAsia increases Jakarta-Kuching flights
Airline will start daily flights between Kuching and Jakarta in February
Low cost airline, AirAsia, will begin daily Jakarta-Kuching flights from February 8, 2024.
According to a news report by Borneo Post, the new schedule flights can already be booked with flights starting from 689,000 rupia for one-way flights departing Jakarta, and RM149 for flights departing Kuching.
Bookings can be made via the AirAsia Superapp or airasia.com.
The route, which is operated by AirAsia Indonesia was launched on June 15, 2023.
During its innitial introduction, the airline flew the Jakarta-Kuching flights route three times a week.
The increase in frequencies indirectly shows the popularity of the route with many Indonesian believed to be interested to visit Kuching and also capitalized on Kuching’s good private health system.
Borneo Post also reported that the statement added connecting Kuching and Jakarta is a precursor to wider connectivity from Sarawak to other parts of Indonesia, especially with the establishment of the country’s new administrative capital Nusantara in East Kalimantan.
