A new 200kW DC fast-charging facility is now available at Menara Zecon, Kuching, further boosting Kuching’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
Launched on 30 October 2026 by SDEC Karuna JV Sdn. Bhd. (SKJV), a subsidiary of Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC), the new facility operates under the FastEV brand and features four charging points.
The installation is among the largest EV charging facilities in Sarawak to date, providing a higher-capacity charging option for EV owners in Kuching and surrounding areas.
200kW DC Fast Charging with Four Charging Points
The new FastEV charging station features an up to 200kW DC charging system with four charging points.
Its dynamic power distribution technology allows available power to be shared between connected vehicles, depending on charging demand and the system’s capacity.
The facility is also accessible to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering EV drivers greater flexibility when charging their vehicles.
FastEV Offers Promotional Charging Rates
To celebrate the launch, FastEV is offering a promotional charging rate of RM1.20 per minute from 30 October until 30 November 2026.
After the promotional period, the standard charging rate will be RM1.40 per minute.
According to SKJV General Manager Muhammad Fa’izzul bin Zaidi, the launch represents an important milestone in the company’s efforts to expand FastEV’s presence and strengthen Sarawak’s EV charging network.
He said the installation reflects SKJV’s commitment to providing higher-capacity charging infrastructure and making EV charging more accessible to the public.
FastEV App for Convenient EV Charging
EV owners can use the FastEV mobile application to access the charging network and manage their charging sessions.
The application allows users to:
- Locate available FastEV charging stations.
- Start and monitor charging sessions.
- Make cashless payments.
- View their charging history.
It is noted that SKJV said it will continue identifying strategic locations and establishing partnerships to expand its charging network across Sarawak with more sites likely to emerge sooner.
