UNIMAS named Best Higher Education Institution for 2025
Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has reached a historic milestone after being crowned the first-place winner of the Best Higher Education Institution (IPT) Award 2025.
The prestigious national recognition was presented by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) under the Ministry of Digital.
The award honors UNIMAS for its excellence in driving digital entrepreneurship and innovation within the higher education sector, directly supporting Malaysia’s national digital economy agenda.
Why UNIMAS Gained the Award
The university’s success is attributed to several key factors and strategic initiatives that have set it apart as a leader in digital education:
- Exceptional Performance Metrics: The 2025 award follows a stellar 2024 performance where UNIMAS achieved a 100% success rate in meeting the Entrepreneurship Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE).
- A Mature Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: The award recognizes the maturity of the UNIMAS Student Affairs and Alumni (HEPA) entrepreneurship ecosystem. This success is built on organized governance, high-impact programming, and an integrated strategic roadmap.
