Regency Hospital Kuching: Proposed smart specialist hospital to be ready in 2029

Kuching is set to welcome a significant addition to its healthcare infrastructure with the upcoming Regency Hospital Kuching.

This new private specialist hospital promises to be a game-changer, not only for local residents but also for the wider Southeast Asia region, positioning Sarawak as a premier destination for medical tourism.

This ambitious project, spearheaded by a Health Management International Pte Ltd (HMI Medical), is poised to bring advanced medical technology and world-class care standards to East Malaysia.

The hospital is currently in its initial phase, with construction expected to proceed following the acquisition of a 4.2 acre land within The Northbank Kuching which is developed by Ibraco Berhad. The NorthBank is also home of the Stutong KUTS ART Station which is the first of such station to have complete its physical form during construction.

Regency Hospital Kuching is targeted to launch and begin operations in 2029 with the hospital being a 300-bed capacity smart specialist hospital.

While it hasn’t been confirmed, services touted to be offered at the hospital may include cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics, neurology, and complex surgical services, all which would be addressing the needs of both local and international patients.

It is understood that the focus of the hospotal is on delivering comprehensive specialist and subspecialty care, a crucial offering to meet the rising demand for advanced medical services in the South East Asia, hence making Kuching grow in regards to medeical tourism.
