Water Fun Park for Kuching City approved
The redevelopment of the MBKS Swimming Pool into a Water Fun Park for Kuching City has obtained the approval of Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Abang Haji Openg.
The project will also see the currently known MBKS Swimming Pool, house the Centre of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
Both projects are said to likely be completed in the next two to three years.
The news of the approval was shared by Kuching South City Hall (MBKS), Dato Wee Hong Seng in his online session ShallWeeTalk.
According to Wee the Premier not only approved the plans, but had also asked more features to be added to the building plans.
Currently, the proposal for the Water Fun Park as well as a Centre of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy is being vetted by the Sarawak State Planning Unit and Land and Survey Department.
Once approved, a tender will be called to start the renovation and redevelopment works.
In the session, Wee remains optimistic that both the Water Fun Park for Kuching City and Centre of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy will not have problems to be completed and will likely see its tender being called by the year end.
