Star Cineplex Kuching to close down

Kuching’s longest surviving cinema, Star Cineplex Kuching will close its doors this coming 30th April, citing its inability to keep up with competition as a major reason to pull their shutters down after years serving Kuching movie goers.

Star Cineplex Kuching started operating back in 1997, was one of the top destinations for movie goers, but stiff competition from other cinemas in the city, namely LFS Riverside Kuching, LFS Summer Mall, MBO Spring Mall and GSC CityOne has caused its patronage to dwindle badly.

It is understood that other Star Cineplexes in Bintulu, Sibu and Sandakan will however not be affected.
