SIFMA Fringe to build up excitement towards main event

The Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts (SIFMA) will be organising SIFMA Fringe events as a lead up towards the actual SIFMA event which is on 3 and 4th December 2022.

During SIFMA Fringe, one can expect to enjoy ‘teasers’ of what to expect during the full event which will be happening at the Sarawak State Legislative Building (DUN Sarawak) next weekend.

According to what we know, the fringe event will happen until the actual event.

Last night, SIFMA Fringe was officially launched at the Old Court House with Rhythms of Sarawak by International Music House (IMH), blasting more than 50 drums from five cultures in Sarawak for audiences.

Today, 26 November 2022, they are planning to demonstrate Flute, Mouth Organ, Zither Bamboo instruments and Ethnic instruments, making it a certain spectacle for those able to attended the event which is scheduled at 4PM and 7PM at the same venue.

More performances are expected during other Fringe sessions with the big spectacle expecting performers from around the globe such as US-based Sarawak pianist, Esme Wong, distinguished Belgian pianist, Dr Gilbert de Greeve, the Halili-Cruz School of Ballet from the Philippines, SIFMA Choir, Victoria Chorale and more.

Aside from that, there would also be SIFMA Forum: Let’s Talk which will feature incredible actress, Emma Lau from United Kingdom.

On 27 November, the details of performances for the event for Fringe 2022 were made public.
