Selling of food allowed until 10PM during Ramadan
The Sarawak government yesterday allowed food sellers to open from 3PM – 10PM during Ramadan.
This means that those in Kuching will be able to also sell food above the 7PM Movement Control Order (MCO) limit now.
UKAS reported that the new law allows private or individual food sellers to sell take-out food within their house compound only.
Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who is part of the Sarawak Disaster Management committee said that traders and buyers are adviced to practice social distancing, and other safety when opening their stalls.
“The time for operation is limited from 3PM to 10AM during the month of Ramadan.
“Traders and shoppers must adhere to social distancing, cover mouth and nose, and maintain high hygiene during the buying and selling process” he said during today’s press conference.
In additional to that, all hotels and restaurants are allowed to sell take out food during Ramadan.
Karim however advised traders to jump to online sales and reiterated that all types of mass stalls and Ramadan bazaars will remained banned during this years month of Ramadan,.
