KUCHING: The new Satok bazaar would be modelled after the famous Portobello Market in London to attract more visitors, said Sarawak Tourism minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg.
The old Satok marketplace was demolished early January and the traders were relocated to the Satok business arcade.
“This is a new idea, we will rebuild it to be like the Portobello Market in London and like another area in Orlando, United States, which sold rejected textile products. They used caravans to ply their trade, so we might also use similar caravans here,” he said yesterday.
