KWJF2019 moved to the MBKS Community Hall
The annual Kuching Waterfront Jazz Festival (KWJF2019) has shifted its venue to a new location.
Kuching’s premier annual jazz festival, the Kuching Waterfront Jazz Festival will be moved indoors in view of the haze situation.
The event happening 27-28 September next week was scheduled to be held outdoors at the waterfront but shall be moved to MBKS Community Hall.
A statement we received said that the move is made to provide festival-goers and performers better comfort in light of worsening haze conditions in Kuching.
The MBKS Community Hall at Jalan Padungan is equipped with air-conditioned.
It is understood that face masks and water dispensers will be provided by the organizer at the venue.
Free shuttle services will also provided from SEDC hotels, namely Grand Margherita Hotel, Riverside Majestic Hotel Puteri Wing and Riverside Majestic Hotel Astana Wing to new venue.
KWJF 2019 is expected to draw crowds from Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Brunei, Sabah, Peninsular Malaysia and Australia. The 3rd KWJF this year will see local Sarawak talents performing alongside an eclectic line-up of musicians and performers from around the region such as Ning Baizura (Malaysia), Harvey Malaihollo (Indonesia), Sitti Navarro (Philippines), Dave Brewer & The DooDaddies (Australia), Dawn Wong & The Shanghai Jazz Club (Singapore), Ushera (Malaysia), Saxx in the City (Indonesia), Xanaduduo (UK/Sarawak), Q Sound (US/Malaysia), Nisa Addina (Sarawak) and KWJF Jazz Band Search winner, local band The Fingerprints.
