Kuching Waterfront to have traditional English teahouse
Kuching Waterfront is set to change it’s landscape yet again with beautification works worth RM24-million set to be done.
Works on the new beautification project had been on-going since 2017, but the addition of the traditional English teahouse was just made known now.
A report by DayakDaily said that the Kuching Waterfront will add a water cascade, walkways from Kampung Boyan to the Darul Hana Bridge, and a traditional English teahouse.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah was quoted as saying that the teahouse was inspired by inspiration of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
When completed, the teahouse would be able to accommodate 200 visitors at a time.
Graphics released by Sarawak Edition suggest that the teahouse would be placed at the slop of the Sarawak river and it will be located alongside the already completed walkway nearby Kampung Boyan.
