Kuching to organize ‘Olympics of IT’: WCIT 2023

Kuching will, next year host one of the worlds’ biggest IT related conferences as it will organized the 27th World Congress on Innovation and Technology 2023 (WCIT 2023).

The announcement came after WCIT 2022 wrapped up in Penang this week.

According to Digital News Asia, the 2022 edition of the event is now considered the largest and most prestigious technology and innovation conference to date in Malaysia.

The three-day event and was attended by more than 4,000 delegates (online and in person) from over 60 countries, with more than RM46 billion worth of foreign and domestic digital investments were announced.

About WCIT

In case you didn’t know, the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is the largest and most reputable international event among worldwide IT leaders.

Known as the Olympics of the world’s information technology industry, it is a signature event of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) since 1978.

Malaysia played host for WCIT2008, and later WCIT 2022.

About WCIT 2023

For next years 2023 edition, Kuching is expecting no less than 2,500 delegates.

The selection of Kuching as host for the conference also marks the first time an Asian country was selected as host such an event three times.
