Kuching Smart Parking System: New vendor appointed, Balance in BorneoParkKCH App to be refunded

Kuching City Parking System (KCPS), the company which is currently managing public parking in Kuching City, as well as the BorneoParkKCH App which is currently also in use in Kuching, has announced that they will no longer be managing parking in Kuching from November 1, 2025.
This announcement is in line with MBKS’s announcement which stated that a new parking management will be introduced on that said date.
According to the company’s statement on its website, a new vendor will take over Kuching’s parking management with KCPS stating that they will permanently shut down their parking system after October 2025.

The message further elaborates that those having balance in their BorneoParkKCH App can get cash refunds by visiting KCPS office at Jalan Datuk Abang Abdul Rahim from 20 October 2025 to 15 November 2025, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
While not indicated, it seems apt to suggest that BorneoParkKCH will no longer be in use from November 1st, 2025 given the fact that KCPS will cease to manage public parking in Kuching.
The new Kuching parking management
The announcement by KCPS had taken some by surprise given the fact they had already rolled out the BorneoParkKCH App which seems most certain as a replacement to the current coupon system which is also managed by the company.

The fact the company also manages smart public parking in Sibu, Bintulu and Miri via similarly named apps makes the company a favourite to dominate such facility in Kuching.
As a matter of fact, the BorneoParkKCH app, noticed in September, was largely easy to use and sweet on the eye with its simple interface and benefitted from easy integration from KCPS’s previous app which was only used to pay for overparking.
Nonetheless, with KCPS’s now confirmed announcement, it is safe to say that Kuching will see a new company managing its public parking.
No names have been made public just yet, but there are strong rumours that point to Pay & Go coming in as the new company.
In fact, based on previous ‘hints’, both from Pay & Go as well as local councils, it just makes sense that Pay & Go will be the next company managing Kuching’s public parking.

Hints by Pay & Go conveniently sync with what has been announced by local councils, and with the company covering almost every mall in Kuching, it just makes a lot of sense and convenience to have them as the new company managing parking in Kuching.
Among the features said to be adopted with the new app is council and off-street parking integration and immediate updates of parking space availability.
Exciting days ahead
The impending transition which is due on November 1st, 2025 is highly anticipated by Kuching residents with a chance for significant improvement in their daily parking routine.
While KCPS provided a functional service, the incoming vendor, strongly rumored to be Pay & Go, carries the promise of a more unified and seamless parking experience.
The hope is that this new management will leverage its extensive presence across the city to not only deliver exceptional service and an even more refined, user-friendly app, but also introduce competitive and potentially cheaper parking rates, ultimately benefitting the daily commuters of Kuching.
