Kuching shines at Malaysia Tourism Council (MTC) Gold Awards

In the recently concluded 6th Malaysia Tourism Council (MTC) Gold Awards, Kuching based tourism entities and products secured 16 Gold Award.

Led by the newly opened Borneo Cultures Museum which won Gold Award Museum of the Year, the haul shows Kuching’s potential in terms of tourism in Malaysia.

Other tourism entities and products which are either based or from Kuching which won Gold Awards during the 6th Malaysia Tourism Council are seen below.

  • 25th Rainforest World Music Festival won the Gold Award Event of the Year
  • Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) won the Gold Award M.I.C.E Venue of the Year.
  • Sarawak Cultural Village won Gold Award Cultural Showcase & Experience (East Malaysia)
  • At Adau won Gold Award Ethnic & Cultural Performer of the Year.
  • The Waterfront Hotel won Gold Award City Destination Boutique Hotel (East Malaysia)
  • Pullman Kuching won Gold Award Business Hotel (East Malaysia): Pullman Kuching
  • Pin Sing Travel & Tours won Gold Award Corporate Travel Services (East Malaysia)
  • Persatuan Berbasikal Sarawak won Gold Award Sustainable Community Programme (East Malaysia)
  • Karuna (Sarawak) Enterprise Sdn Bhd won Gold Award Specialised E-Commerce & Digital Services (East Malaysia)
  • FS Adventure Borneo Sdn Bhd won Gold Award Big Bike Adventure Event Management
  • Epic Borneo (MM2H) Sdn Bhd won Gold Award Rising Star — State Foreign Investment Services
  • Aramaz MM2H won Gold Award MM2H Programme
  • Smart Leisure & Travels Sdn Bhd won Gold Award Rising Star – Tours & Travel Services (East Malaysia)
  • Tanoti Sdn Bhd won Gold Award Excellent Indigenous Craft & Experiential Tourism
  • Win Hotel won Gold Award City Hotel

Overall, Sarawak secured 20 awards during the event with some going to entities, tourism products and destinations in other parts of Sarawak.
