Kuching Festival 2023 begins tomorrow

The ever-popular Kuching Festival for 2023 will begin tomorrow, 28 August 2023.

According to the Borneo Post, the festival famed particularly for its Kuching Food Fair, will also see some 17 other programs being organized.

Among the main highlights this year would be the International Friendship Cities Nights, Kuching City of Gastronomy and the return of Kuching Zumba Fiesta.

Also planned are the Basketball jamboree (3-on-3), Mayor’s Walk, and Kuching South City Classic Bodybuilding Championship.

It was also noted by Borneo Post that performer from Guro in South Korea; Quanzhou and Zhenjiang in China; as well as Asuke in Japan will be performing at the International Friendship Cities Nights.

Aside from that, there’s also a street parade celebrating the 60th anniversary of Sarawak’s independence on 5 August 2023.

Another report on the festival by Utusan Borneo also noted that Kuching Festival 2023 goers can also stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes which include a WMOTO ES 125 motorcycle, WMOTO VE1 110 motorcycle, and SM Sport 110E motorcycles by visiting the festival grounds.

Also available as lucky draw prizes are folding bicycles, laptops, tablets, and smartwatches.

For the food fair, guest are reminded that they should bring their own water bottles, recyclable bags and containers as the festival is enforcing a no plastic policy.

The official opening ceremony of the Kuching Festival 2023 will be done on Saturday, 20 August 2023, at the MBKS Theatre.
