Kuching Civic Centre (Dewan Suarah Kuching)
The Kuching Civic Centre, known also as Dewan Suarah Kuching, is an iconic building which is located in the heart ok Kuching City.
The building was officially opened on 1 August 1988 following the proclamation of Kuching as a city status.
It has a futuristic umbrella-shaped tower that offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Kuching and the surroundings.
What to expect
The Civic Centre is home to a few things at the moment, namely the Planetarium Sultan Iskandar, PetroSains Playmart Kuching, an observatory tower, a skateboard park, and an event hall.
Currently, the only the Planetarium Sultan Iskandar and PetroSains Playmart Kuching are operational while the observatory tower and event hall seems to be closed.
The observatory tower used to have a restaurant and pub in the past, but it has since been closed.
The Civic Centre Carpark has also been transformed into a public skateboarding area with skateboarding ramps.

Kuching Civic Centre location
Civic Centre is located at Jalan Taman Budaya and is accessible by taxi, private car and e-hailing services.
If you are staying in Kuching Hotels nearby the city centre, it is about 20 minutes by foot, at least.
